The GAL PC
KB article ID: 5001 (permalink) (path is duplicated)
The GAL PC contains an array of menu options. They include the tools you need to confirm the success of several of your backups, as well as the tool to start/run PC JIMS Scrolling Lobby Dockets. The remaining menu options are intended for GAL Tech Support.
Access your GAL PC
Open your web browser (Chrome, Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox,...).
In the address bar, enter http://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:8080 --where xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx represents the IP address of your GAL PC, and enter. Please ask us for this address if you don't know it.
This will take you to your GAL PC Menu main page. --Create a shortcut to this page in your browser.
Login with you iSeries user ID and password.
Check your GAL iSeries/AS400 online backup
Click on "GAL Online Backup Status" in the top menu bar.
First, look for the block of information with the heading “GAL Online Backup ERROR Log.” It should read “NO ERRORS FOUND”. Second, under "GAL Online Backup Detail Log", a multitude of entries should be listed, detailing what and when was successfully uploaded to the online service. If only one or two entries exist here, report this to Goodin Associates. There likely was a backup error, in spite of the "NO ERRORS FOUND" msg in the ERROR log.
Check your PC JIMS Imaging online backup
Click on "GAL Online Backup Status" in the top menu bar.
Look for the block of information with the heading “GAL Online Imaging Backup Status.”
If all is well, the information bar will be grey, and will show the most recent Start Update (date/time), End Update (date/time) and Last Run (date).
If no End Update shows, the update is currently running.
If the bar is yellow, then there's been no update in 24 hours. This could be a fluke. Don't worry, but be sure to check again tomorrow.
If the bar is red, there's been no update in 5 days. Call Goodin Associates.
Check your PC JIMS Imaging tape backup
Click on "GAL-PC Tape Backup Status" in the top menu bar.
Look for the block of information with the heading “Tape backup Log.”
The top line in the block should report the time/date of the most recent backup.
The third to last line should report the number of files and directories that were backed up.
The next to last line should report the total bytes written (the size of the backup).
If you see any entry that indicates files that had errors, call Goodin Associates.

Run a PC JIMS Scrolling Lobby Docket session
Click on "Lobby Docket" in the top menu bar.
Click on the terminal ID you want to run/display.
It should start momentarily, and will scroll if enough cases are scheduled.
Modifications to your scrolling docket sessions are handled in PC JIMS Courts.
